Drug trafficking in Ecuador: Five Years Since Manta
This series of five reports will address the evolution of drug trafficking in Ecuador since the United States formally left the Manta military base in 2009. Information was compiled over the last six months through a joint effort between the Center for Investigative Journalism in the Americas—a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. whose mission is to promote investigative journalism as an instrument for exposing corruption and organized crime in the Americas—and the digital magazine Plan V based in Ecuador.
