Argentina’s Lost Decade?

The Story of the country's biggest corruption scandals during the Kirchner era

At CIJA we have the objective of building a historical archive of corruption in Latin America, which aims to document the major cases that have been affecting the region during the past decades and continue to do so.

Currently, we are working on building a database with key information of two big corruption scandals that have been appearing on the front pages of every newspaper in Argentina for the last 2 years.

One of them involves Vice President Amado Boudou, who has been charged for a corruption case, accused of using his influences to control one of the major paper producing companies in this country, that prints the Argentine currency.

The other one, known as “The Route of the K-Money” alleges a case of embezzlement between former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner, his wife and current President Cristina Kirchner, and the pro-government businessman Lazaro Baez.
